Yoga
Kripalu
Kripalu yoga is a slower form of Hatha (physical) yoga. The asanas (postures) are usually held longer than normal to allow for deep strengthening and stretching. Kripalu yoga is a great teacher of being mindful to our body, it's capabilities, and its limits. It's both a gentle and a deep strengthening practice in one. Many people refer to Kripalu yoga as "meditation in motion", which tends to emerge over time as the practice deepens. Kripalu yoga is very compatible with other mindfulness practices.
Our Kripalu teachers have all been trained and certified in the Kripalu tradition either here with Atlantic Yoga Teacher Training or at the Kripalu Centre for Health and Yoga in Massachusetts.
Both training institutes offer 200- and 500-hr yoga teacher certification (Kripalu Centre also offers 1000-hr) and are Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance. Yoga Alliance is the North American regulation body providing teachers with the credential of Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).
Amanda W. and Hollianna were trained with the AYTT and are 200-hr RYT. Mike was trained at Kripalu and is a 200-hr RYT.
